Statistics reveal that every day nearly 33 children are injured due to agricultural-related incidents. Additionally, 2015-2017 data observed that as many as 79% of youth under the age of 18 were not working when injured on a farm when the incident occurred. Often young children become attracted to a situation not realizing or understanding the potential dangers. Children become at risk when they enter any workspace where farm equipment is being used and they are not visible to the operator. This could be a result of being in the vehicle or equipment’s blind spot, an operator preoccupied with their work tasks, or not being visible due to clothing, lighting, or weather conditions.
